YOUTH COUNCIL

SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION

In accordance with the proposal made by Vladimir Putin at the summit of the SCO in Shanghai in June 2006, the national youth organization of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization initiated the creation of the Youth Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The concept of the Council was represented at a meeting of the SCO heads of state in Beijing in May 2007. The majority of organizations actively supported the proposal and expressed their desire to participate in the creation of the Council, in connection with the 18 - 20 October 2007 in Moscow, a meeting of representatives of national youth organizations of the SCO, which was signed statement on the feasibility of the SCO Youth Council.

By mutual agreement, another meeting was held on 20 - October 21, 2008 in St. Petersburg, where they discussed issues of creating the SCO Youth Council, its statutes and the basic principles of operation. At the meeting discussed the draft agreement and the provisions of the SCO Youth Council.

May 2-5, 2009 in Yekaterinburg Youth Assembly passed the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in which the May 4 at the Residence of the Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast The founding conference was held on the SCO Youth Council, which signed the founding documents of the SCO Youth Council, Declaration on the Establishment and Regulation of the Youth Council Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The founders of the SCO Youth Council became national youth organization of the SCO Member States: Youth Congress of Kazakhstan, the youth wing "Jas Otan" National Democratic Party "Nur Otan", the All-China Federation of Youth, the Youth Community Council Kyrgyz-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Youth" Youth Public Chamber of Russia, Union of Youth of Tajikistan.

Presidency of the SCO Youth Council

From June 2009 to July 2010 was part of the Russian national presidency of the SCO Youth Council. The head of the Russian national side was the Chairman of the IPU SCO.

From July 2010 to July 2010 was part of Kazakhstan's national presidency of the SCO Youth Council.

From July 2011 to the present time, the Chinese national side is the presidency of the SCO Youth Council.
